strung out by Angie Byrom Design
Art made from polymer clay can now be found in major museums throughout the world, so its appeal as a jewellery medium was instantly obvious to Tasmanian designer
Angie Byrom when she began making her bespoke pieces 4 years ago.
Angie began her creative life in the mid 80’s, designing and making men’s and women’s wear, which often lead her to seek specific accessories for her pieces ie beads, buttons etc.
Polymer clay was the answer, and her strung out label emerged.
Since then she has moved on to full time jewellery making and the versatility of the polymer clay medium has greatly expanded her creative options. Each piece is individually formed, rolled, sliced, baked, buffed or glazed, and sterling silver, guitar string, fabric, rubber, stainless steel or found objects used to finish the piece.
